Soul Connections are Made in Heaven

Have you ever met someone and felt an instant connection? This can happen with people and animals. The reason it occurs is because we have already met them in Heaven and agreed to meet again in this lifetime.

Establishing Relationships in Heaven

The time we spend in Heaven is not just about being at peace and watching over our loved ones here on Earth as guardian angels. We have opportunities to meet other souls and establish relationships with them. When the time comes for us to experience another lifetime, we can make agreements in our soul contracts to meet again on Earth. Often, the agreements are tied into life lessons we need to learn as we agree to help one another to grow as souls.

Soulmates

When people talk about soulmates, they often refer to it as someone who is meant to be in their life. That is a true statement as it is part of a soul contract to meet again in this lifetime. Soulmates are not limited to romantic relationships, though, and not all soulmate relationships are healthy ones. This is because the lessons we agreed to learn in this lifetime may include situations that challenge us to learn to love ourselves or how to work through difficult experiences. Soulmates agree to help us with those lessons, even if they are hard and they may only be in our lives for the duration of the lessons, not our entire lifetimes. There are soulmates that teach us more positive lessons about giving and receiving love. Again, these relationships are not limited to romantic connections. They can be friendships, family relationships, and relationships with animals, too. All soulmate relationships are deep. We feel them in our souls. Whether they are healthy or unhealthy, they all serve a purpose to help us learn and grow as souls.

Understanding the Lessons

While we are here on Earth, we may or may not understand the reasons behind certain experiences.  This is especially true when we are in the middle of challenging situations as we are more focused on resolving them or working through them. The stress of that can make it difficult to see the lessons. To help ourselves to more readily understand, it is helpful to ask ourselves, “What am I supposed to be learning from this situation?” or “What are the positive benefits that are coming from this situation?” Again, it may not be clear at first. If we can get past the initial reaction of “Why is this happening to me?” to get to a place of looking for the lessons or benefits, we can change our focus from the problem to the lessons we are learning. This change in mindset provides a deeper understanding that can relieve the pressures of stress while providing knowledge to help us move forward with solutions.

Thankful for All Connections

Whether our soul connections with others are positive or negative, they all serve a positive purpose for the evolution of our souls. The strongest connections are with the soulmates we met in Heaven and have agreed to meet again in this lifetime. We are all here to help one another, whether that is through challenging circumstances or through the giving and receiving of love. On a personal level, I am thankful for the lessons I have learned, as well as for those I have yet to learn, as they have helped me to grow as a soul. I hope you, too, can see the blessings of who you are and how far you have come.

Refresh Your Soul in Nature

Spending time in nature is a wonderful way to refresh your soul. It is a form of meditation when we allow ourselves to appreciate and enjoy all Mother Nature has to offer as it gives our souls a break from the tasks and pressures of life. To make the most of our time with nature, temporarily release your thoughts and worries and allow yourself to enjoy the beauty of our natural world.

Enjoying Nature

Parks are wonderful places to connect with nature. These places have been set aside to preserve and protect the natural habitats of the earth. When we visit them, we are there not only to enjoy them, but also to preserve the flora and fauna that reside there by respecting the land and all its creatures that dwell there. When you go to a park, wildlife preserve, or beach, take along your binoculars to get a good look at the birds, plants and animals that you discover along your path. Sturdy and comfortable footwear and a bottle of water are recommended. You may also want to bring along a pen and paper to record your thoughts or draw what you see. A camera, too, can help you to capture the beauty of what you are experiencing. Have no expectations other than to breathe in the fresh air and to take delight in the sights and sounds that nature offers. Take note of the way the sun filters through the trees or sparkles as it reflects off the water of a stream, lake, or the ocean. Listen to the music of the birds as they sing to one another in the trees. To see the animals, the best time to visit is near dawn or dusk, as this is when they come out to forage for food. Most of all, respect their homes and habitats by simply being an observer. Do not destroy or disturb their environment or leave litter behind. We can all be good citizens of this earth by respecting nature and our environment. Be there to enjoy the splendor and to breathe in the peace that comes from observing nature’s simplicity and beauty. It is a gift worth preserving. For those of you who are already actively respecting and maintaining the environment in big and small ways, know that Mother Nature sends you her gratitude.

Nature is Everywhere

Nature can be enjoyed at any time. You do not need to be at a park to hear the birds or to walk barefoot in the grass or in the sand. Nature is all around us, every day. It is the air we breathe, the wind that caresses our faces, the water we drink, the vegetables and plants we eat, the flowers we grow, the pets we open our homes and hearts to, the rabbits that hop in our yards, the bees that propagate the pollen for the plants, and the sun that brings warmth and light to our world. Enjoy it, respect it and give gratitude for it. Whenever you need to feel refreshed and rejuvenated, go outside and take a deep breath. Thank Mother Nature for the gifts that She has given that refresh your soul and clear your mind.

Spirit Medium Readings are a Two-Part Process

When you sit for a spirit medium reading with me, there are two parts to the reading for each loved one in spirit who comes through. The first part of the reading involves identifying the loved one in spirit coming through and the second part of the reading involves the sharing of their personal message for you. It is important to correctly identify who is communicating because it impacts the message. Without knowing the identity of the message sender, some messages would make little to no sense to the receiver.

How Information is Transmitted

When spiritual beings communicate with me soul-to-soul, they use all my extrasensory senses—seeing, hearing, feeling, smelling, tasting, and knowing (claircognizance). The information is sent and received internally, similar to a telepathic connection. The process is much more complex than just sitting down and talking with someone. Spiritual beings no longer inhabit a physical body and, therefore, must use their minds and other energetic means to communicate across dimensions. It is an abstract form of communication that requires absolute trust, openness, and receptivity from me, openness and receptivity from you to those in spirit, as well as clarity and loving strength from your loved ones in spirit.

Part One: Validating the Identity of the Communicator in Spirit

Questions and Responses

When giving a reading, I have a set of questions I ask that I send using my mind to your loved ones in spirit when you and I are working together to identify them. The questions are basic in the beginning, and then they become more in-depth as we go deeper into the validation process. For instance, I ask those in spirit “Are you male or female?” and “What did you look like?” In response, I am sent an image of your loved one in spirit which usually shows what they looked like close to the time of their passing, as you would remember them best, or as they would like to be remembered. The image they send shows me how they looked and may provide insights into your loved one’s personality and identity, as well as their relationship with you. For instance, when a man comes through wearing some form of red or maroon, this indicates to me that he is a father figure or grandfather figure to you. If he is wearing a flannel shirt, it indicates that he may have been more of the outdoorsy type who preferred to spend time outside more than inside. At the same time, he may be creating a tingling sensation in both my hands or sending me an image of a tool or machine shop, indicating that he worked with his hands using the tool or machinery that I am seeing. There are many questions and identifying pieces of information that are sent which provide evidence of the identity of the person or animal in spirit coming through that can be validated by the recipient of the reading.

Deeper into the Validation

As I am sharing information with you, I am, at the same time, asking for more information from your loved one in spirit about what he or she did for a living, and how he or she passed. You do not hear that part of the communication because I am asking those questions directly to your loved ones in spirit using my mind, not out loud. In addition to seeing what the communicator looked like, they will also send me symbols that mean something to you and will help you to identify them. For example, as I was describing a father figure who was coming through, he sent me an image of a lemon. I asked the sitter if this meant something to her in relation to her father, and she replied that it did…her father used to eat lemons raw. This piece of information, in addition to the description of him and various other factors about his personality, what he did for a living, and how he passed, confirmed for her that it was indeed her father. He was well-known for eating this unique culinary delight. The symbols are unique for each individual and are sent to help trigger your memories of them. As I mentioned, all my senses are utilized during a spirit medium reading, and your loved ones in spirit may be communicating with me utilizing several of them at the same time. This rapid overlapping of visions, sounds, tastes, smells, feelings, and knowingness creates a richer and more detailed communication that helps both you and me to identify and understand the messages that are being conveyed. For instance, when I am trying to identify how a person passed, I may be feeling a push like an impact in the region of my chest, seeing a car rolling over, and hearing the word “accident” all at the same time. This indicates to me that the person most likely passed due to an impact to the chest during a car accident.

Identifying the Communicator

As the information is transmitted, I share it with you, the recipient. When I have gathered enough specific information that could help you to identify a loved one, I will ask whether this person or animal (pets do come through!) sounds familiar to you. The best answer you can give is yes, no, or I don’t know. If the person sounds familiar, but you are not quite sure of who it is, please state that. More information will be brought forth to help you identify them. It is important to note that when loved ones come through in a reading, they are yours. They are not mine, nor are they random beings popping in to intrude on your reading. They could be a deceased friend, family member, pet, neighbor, in-law, acquaintance, or co-worker. It could be a great grandmother that you never met, but who knows you from seeing you from Heaven. If this is the case, there may be records, photographs, and people still living that may be able to help you confirm the identity of the person coming through after the reading. If you do not claim them though, no message will be shared as their identity must be known for the message to make sense. My best advice is to keep an open mind and an open heart about who is going to come through, how they are going to come through, and what they want to share. You never know who is going to come through in a reading, nor do you know how they are going to come through, or what messages they will share with you. Remember, they are coming through with information from their point of view and they also have the benefit of understanding more about life on Earth now that they are in Heaven.

Part Two: Personal Messages for You

Sharing Knowledge, Love, and Guidance

Once the identity of your loved one in spirit has been established, it is time for part two of the communication process with your loved one in spirit…their personal messages for you. There is always an important reason for a loved one coming through in a reading. Often, they share messages of import regarding your life. This could be about events that occurred in the past, are occurring presently, or will occur in the future. Your loved ones in spirit watch over you from Heaven. Because of this, they know what you need to help you with your life. What they share with you is not trivial. They have gone through a lot of effort to communicate across dimensions, and what they share could have a profound effect on your life and the evolution of your soul. Messages of love, forgiveness, guidance, and more are shared with the hope that you, the recipient, will be open and receptive to the messages. For example, I have had loved ones in spirit come through asking for forgiveness for abusive treatment, neglect, or having a hard time expressing and sharing love while on Earth. The forgiveness that he or she is asking for is not for their benefit, but for the recipient of the reading. It may be imperative for the recipient to release all the pent-up negativity and resentment against this person to move on with his or her life. Loved ones can also come through to let a recipient know that they are, indeed, in Heaven and at peace. They may give a glimpse into future events. There are so many possibilities when it comes to messages conveyed by loved ones in spirit. Each message that comes through is designed by loved ones in spirit to help their loved ones here on Earth.

Let the Information Flow

Your loved ones in spirit do their best to convey information in a way that helps you to identify who they are to get to the heart of the reading, which is their personal message to you. I highly recommend letting your loved ones in spirit bring what they want to bring. There are times when recipients want their loved ones in spirit to tell them what they already know as a kind of proof it is really them or that they are aware of events on Earth. Demanding to only hear what you want to hear is one of the fastest ways to halt communications as you are telling your loved ones in spirit that you do not want to hear what they have to share. They truly want to help you and to do that, you need to be open to their messages and assistance. It is important to note that some loved ones in spirit are more skilled than others at communicating with spirit mediums. They truly are doing their best to communicate and may require help from another loved one in spirit or a guide to send the information across dimensions. Like any skill, it is knowledge that is learned, and some have had more practice at it than others. I like to think of us (the spirit medium, the recipient, and the loved one in spirit) as a team working together in harmony to transmit, receive, and share communications across the dimensions. By permitting communications to naturally flow from their spirit through mine to yours, you are allowing your loved ones in spirit to convey messages of soul importance, which will help you to get the most out of your reading. After you have identified your loved one in spirit and they have shared their messages with you, you can ask questions of them if you have them.

Equally Important

Both parts of a spirit medium reading are equally important to you, the recipient. Validating the identity of the being coming through establishes the connection between you and your loved ones in spirit and it provides the background context for the messages you are about to receive from them. The messages that come through from your loved ones in spirit contain invaluable pieces of information that come from the heart of their spirit to yours and are divinely conceived and directed. It is my hope that this article provides you with a more thorough understanding of how spirit communication works, as well as an appreciation for the complex process of spirit communicating. I also hope that it helps you to get the most out of your next spirit medium reading.

What It Means When Loved Ones in Spirit Appear in Dreams

Dreaming is a fascinating mechanism in which the subconscious mind processes, in symbolic form, emotions and scenarios affecting our lives. The symbols within our dreams come from our personal experiences and cultural references, which means they can differ from person to person. What does it mean, then, when loved ones in spirit appear in our dreams?

When a loved one who has crossed over into the next realm visits us in our dreams, it is really them appearing in spirit form to help us work through the various issues we are facing in our lives. Even if the dream is an unpleasant one, their presence in the dream is one of helpful assistance, even if it does not appear that way due to the content of the dream. It is who and what they represent which is important.

Our journey on earth is a spiritual one, in which we work through lessons for our souls to evolve and grow. Many of the lessons present challenges but with the promise of deep satisfaction within the soul when the lessons are learned and absorbed, allowing us to move forward with inner strength and peace. Honoring your soul and the souls of others is a vital lesson on earth as we are here to help one another in this journey. That help may come in the form of challenges which present us with opportunities for growth. Every situation we face and every person who comes into our lives serves a purpose. When loved ones appear in our dreams, they are helping us work through the earthly circumstances tied into our lessons. At times, they can also deliver direct messages with hints of what is to come or ways in which we can solve our problems. When delivering a direct message, there is a strong realistic quality which occurs during the transmission of the specific message which is inserted into the dream amongst the symbolic references. The occurrence of the message has the same quality as a vision.

Visions Versus Dreams

There is a distinct difference between dreams and visions. For most people, visions often occur immediately prior to falling asleep or upon waking but before you arise. Visions are very strong and have a realistic quality to them. When a deceased loved one visits in a vision, the experience can be very powerful, as every sense is magnified and the messages they share are clear and direct. Experiences with God, the angels, and past spiritual masters can also occur in dreams and visions. Again, when the visitations occur within a vision, it can be life changing.

Remembering and Interpreting Dreams

The messages within dreams are unique to each person. The best method for interpreting the symbolism within your dreams is to use word association techniques. Dream dictionaries are not very helpful because certain symbols may be positive for you but may represent something completely different for someone else. This is why word association is best because it taps into your personal symbols.

How to Remember and Record Your Dreams

Before you go to sleep, place a pen and paper by your bedside. In your mind, put the request out to the universe to remember your dreams. Try this for at least two weeks, especially if you have difficulty remembering your dreams. Be prepared to be woken up at an unusual time. This is because you will need to be awakened during the REM (rapid eye movement) cycle of sleep. It is during this cycle that you dream, and when you are woken up within the dream, you will recall it. Once you are awakened, do not get up out of bed. If you do, the memories of the dream will rapidly disappear. Instead, reach for your pen and paper to write down all the details of your dream. Do not concern yourself with sentence structure, spelling, or grammar. Just write down everything you remember without trying to interpret the meaning. Then, set it aside for at least a half day to a day.

How to Interpret Your Dreams

When you are ready to work on the interpretation of your dreams, sit down with the write up of your dream and a separate piece of paper. While keeping an open mind and without attempting to interpret the meaning, look at each being, object and action in the dream. Jot down the first things you think of immediately. Do not think or second guess and do not attempt to interpret. This is an exercise in word association. This process only works if you keep an open mind and jot down the first thought associated with the object, being, or action. Repeat this for all objects, beings, and actions in your dream. After you have completed this exercise for the entire dream, take a look at the words you wrote in the word association exercise. This is when you begin the process of interpretation. You should begin to notice a pattern or theme emerging. Think about how the theme relates to events occurring in your life. The symbolism in your dream has the potential to reveal insight into your life through the identification of the subconscious thoughts and emotions affecting your life.

Lucid Dreaming

Lucid dreaming is the ability to directly communicate with beings in your dream while remaining in the dream state. There are many books and articles that teach methodologies for lucid dreaming. Knowing that it is really your loved ones in spirit in your dreams is the first step. When I attempted to speak with my dad in my dreams for the first time, I was able to consciously recognize him in my dream, but then I woke up immediately. While possible, it takes practice to be able to successfully converse with loved ones in your dreams.

Visiting in Your Dreams

Loved ones in spirit use dreams and visions as one of the many ways to get messages to you and to help you with your life. They do this because they have been trying to communicate in different ways while you are awake. Learning how your loved ones in spirit communicate and send you signs opens the beautiful connection you have with one another beyond life on Earth. When they visit you in your dreams, I hope you take comfort in knowing they are there to help you with your journey and all the joys and challenges we experience.

Why Certain Loved Ones in Spirit Come Through During a Reading

When sitting for a reading, everyone has certain people they would like to hear from, such as their mother, grandfather, significant other, or pet. However, there are times when someone other than the loved one you long to hear from comes forward to share communications from the Other Side. It does not mean that the loved one in spirit you wanted to hear from does not love you, but rather that the people or pets coming through have something important to share that can only be shared by them. This could be due to their relationship with you or their experiences in life that could help you with your life at the time of your reading.  

Get the Most Out of Your Reading with an Open Mind and Heart

Keeping an open mind about who is coming through, how they are coming through, and what they want to share is important for getting the most out of the communications from your loved ones in spirit. They know better than you what you need for your life to bring healing, closure, and guidance because they have access to your soul contract for this lifetime and know what you need to grow and evolve on a soul level. There are times when you can request a specific loved one in spirit to come through; however, it is up to that loved one in spirit to decide whether it is in your best interest to do so. Most of the time they do; however, there have been rare times when they have not readily stepped up in order to allow another loved one in spirit to bring through communications to help you with your life. Here are some reasons why this may occur:

The Need for Your Heart to Heal

There are times when deep grief can be overwhelming. Your loved ones in spirit recognize the need for you to heal and adjust to the new reality of not having them physically with you on Earth. When you are experiencing deep grief, there can sometimes be a tendency to hold on to the past so strongly that forward movement is being temporarily blocked and you only want to hear what you want to hear, not necessarily what your loved ones in spirit want to share. Your loved ones in spirit recognize this and know you need time and space to heal. It may seem counter to what you think you need; however, they know you may be attempting to hold on to them too strongly and that you may not be open to what they need to share. Giving yourself some time to heal and work through your grief immediately following the crossing of a loved one allows you to be as open as possible to their communications when you do sit for a reading.

They Need Assistance Bringing Through Messages

In certain situations, loved ones in spirit may need assistance communicating through a spirit medium. This can sometimes occur when a loved one has recently crossed over into Heaven and has not yet learned how to communicate spirit-to-spirit on their own. Another loved one in spirit may come through first to help with the communication process. They are there to lend their support, love, and expertise to help the loved one in spirit to share communications with you.

There Are Others in Spirit Who Have Important Communications to Help You with Your Life

There are times when you would like to hear from a particular loved one in spirit, such as your mother, and your father comes through instead. This does not mean that your mother does not love you or want to communicate with you. It means your father has messages for you to help you with your life that only he can deliver because of his relationship with you and his experiences in life.

Your loved ones in spirit have a unique perspective on your life from Heaven. They know more about you and the events destined for your life than you may realize. It is because of this that a certain loved one in spirit may be the one to share communications with you, instead of the one you wanted to hear from that day. Communications from Heaven contain healing messages at the deeper soul-level. Even when they are helping you with seemingly simple occurrences or events in your day-to-day life, they are providing you with proof of their existence beyond life on Earth, as well as their knowledge and ability to help you across dimensions. This information may be just what you need to believe in our existence beyond life on Earth and to know that your connection with them is as vital and loving as it was in life.

They Have Regrets about How They Passed or How They Treated You

When someone was responsible in some way for their own passing, such as from suicide, a drug overdose, or chronic alcoholism, these loved ones in spirit tend to wait in the background or hesitate to come through right away. That is their way of letting me, the spirit medium, know that they had some kind of responsibility for their passing and have regrets about the actions they took, as well as the pain they brought to others as a result.

Souls who had a hard time in life often go to what I call the Spiritual Hospital, which is like a mental health hospital on Earth but with angels facilitating the healing process. There they receive healing for the challenging situations they faced, as well as the manner of their passing. They also receive important guidance for succeeding in their next lifetime, as they may have to return at a later date for another lifetime to complete lessons from their original soul contract. Once their healing is completed in the Spiritual Hospital, they are fully reunited with their loved ones in Heaven and can begin to explore the wonders of the Other Side.

You Already Communicate with Them Every Day

Some people are very much in tune with their loved ones in spirit as they communicate with them every day through their thoughts and speaking out loud to them. The answers are received through signs, urges to take positive action, lyrics in music, and much more. Because the relationship is already in tune and they are comfortable with the love you share, they may allow others in spirit to come through first if they have important messages to share with the recipient.

They Put Others Before Themselves in Life

At times, they may be displaying an aspect of their personality in which they would put others before themselves. Once that is acknowledged, they will step forward with their messages. As a note, healing, assistance, and messages from Heaven can come from people you would not expect, including great-grandparents or grandparents you did not know in life, a friend whom you helped more than you realized, in-laws and ex-in-laws, pets, and more.

Lack of Faith or Lack of an Open Mind

There are times when a lack of faith or demands by the recipient get in the way of communications from the Other Side. A loved one in spirit may be trying to come through, but the person sitting for the reading may be holding out for one specific piece of information to come through before they will claim them. Even though loved ones in spirit may be bringing through a lot of detailed information about their life, who they were, houses they lived in, their work, and more, some recipients reject the information because they are only listening for a “pre-arranged” code word or specific piece of information before they will confirm who they are and claim them. For instance, on the day of a reading, the recipient may ask in their mind for a loved one in spirit to bring through the word “pickles” in a reading, just so they know it is them.

Sometimes loved ones in spirit will comply with that request and other times they will not. Most of the time it backfires because we do not control how our loved ones in spirit behave or communicate, making a demand of anyone (living or deceased) usually does not get you what you want, and they have more important communications to share. The requirement to hold out for only what you want to hear creates a block and tells your loved ones in spirit that you do not want to hear what they have to say. They can then go temporarily silent because they are rejecting the attempt to control or demand certain pieces of information from them. There are a lot of lessons in that. Neither the medium nor the recipient controls what loved ones in spirit decide to bring through.

The loved one in spirit knows what the recipient needs for the growth of their soul. Letting go of the desire to control can be one of the important factors and lessons for the recipient, which is why they will not always play the game of bringing through that code word or piece of information, but will bring many other pieces of information which are unique to them. There are deep spiritual reasons for their behavior and if you are doubting the existence of Heaven, they may bring through information in a way that requires an open mind and your belief in their existence for you to receive it.

Know That They Love You

Our loved ones in spirit truly know what we need for our hearts and souls. When sitting for a reading it is best to keep an open mind and heart with zero expectations about who will be coming through, how they will come through, and the messages they will bring. By doing so, you give your loved ones in spirit permission to come through the way they need to and you allow yourself to fully receive their messages. They are privy to the bigger picture when they are sharing information with you and they can help guide you through situations of healing, improved circumstances, an understanding about our existence beyond life on Earth, and much more. Most importantly, they love you and every aspect of you, and they also want what is best for you and all whom you love.
