What is Psychic Amnesia and What You Can Do to Avoid It During a Spirit Medium Reading

A spirit medium reading is a three-way system of communication in which a being in spirit communicates with a spirit medium. The spirit medium receives and then transmits the information to the recipient of the reading. The recipient then identifies and claims the loved one in spirit who is coming through and opens themselves up to the messages being shared. It is a cooperative effort which requires active participation from the being in spirit, the spirit medium, and the recipient of the reading. At times, the recipient of the reading may not readily recall the person or animal coming through, or they may not immediately recognize the memories or messages being shared. This phenomenon is often referred to as psychic amnesia. There are many reasons why this can happen, even when everyone involved is doing their best to ensure clear and concise communications.

Reasons Psychic Amnesia Occurs

  • Only wanting to hear from one person
    • This blocks out openness to others who may be trying to come through to help you with your life
  • Concentrating only on people who recently passed
  • Thinking of your own perspective of the person, not the perspective of the person coming through
  • Waiting for a code word, name, or specific message
    • No matter how much unique identifying information is brought through, some people will not believe it is one of their loved ones in spirit unless they hear a specific word, name, or message
  • In a group reading setting, some people do not want to be the center of attention
  • Denial based on fear
    • Some people do not want to revisit the pain of someone’s passing
    • People have mentioned they denied knowing the person coming through because they were fearful of the emotions that would be brought forth
    • Uncomfortable with spirit communication because they do not understand how it works
    • Do not want to hear from a particular person due to painful situations encountered in life
  • Fear of the unknown
  • Skepticism about spirit communication
    • People who have had negative experiences with people who were not authentic or genuine, or they may have heard stories from others about this, may not want to believe the information coming through
    • Strong religious beliefs or teachings which deny this type of communication exists or is a product of negative beings may be deeply ingrained in someone and they may not be receptive to the information being brought forth
  • Thinking only of blood relatives, not friends, neighbors, associates, or others
  • Being awestruck
    • This can happen at any time, but most often when someone is sitting for a reading for the first time – it is as if their thinking mind has stopped functioning and they cannot even remember details about their own lives, let alone loved ones who have passed
  • Not understanding how spirit communication works
    • Spirit communication is a complex process which involves the use of all the spirit medium’s senses – people who are not familiar with the way it works may sometimes think it is as simple as a fireside chat in which all information about a person’s life is easily shared
  • Impaired judgment due to inebriation from alcohol or drugs
  • Distraction
    • Thinking of other things and not living in the moment
    • Not paying attention to the information being shared
    • Having pets, small children, or other people in the room
  • Fatigue
    • If someone is very tired or exhausted, it may be challenging for them to recall information or to recognize it when it is coming through
  • Strong grief
    • Messages may be brought through, but the person may be so distraught that they have a hard time hearing and digesting the messages

Ways to Avoid Psychic Amnesia

  • Keep an open mind and heart
    • Enter a reading with no expectations or pre-conceived notions of how you who you would like to hear from, how they would come through, or what they would like to share with you as you never know who is going to come through for you, nor can you anticipate the message they will bring
    • Your loved ones in spirit know who you need to hear from and why – remember they view your life from an enlightened perspective
      • They often bring through information which may bring healing for your soul
    • Be open to the information coming through because your loved ones in spirit are doing their best to share information using a very intricate communication process which involves the transference of their messages and information using all the spirit medium’s senses
      • It is like pieces of a puzzle that need to be brought together to define who it is coming through and what they would like to share with you
    • Know that anyone who has passed can come through, including blood relatives, in-laws, ex-in-laws, friends, acquaintances, co-workers, relatives whom you never met but who know you from watching over you from Heaven (such as great grandparents), pets and more

    • In the first stages of grief, which includes feelings of anger and denial of the person’s passing, it is best to wait until your heart and spirit have begun to heal and accept the person’s or pet’s passing
  • Do not be too hard on yourself if you temporarily forget loved ones or memories
    • There may be a reason why you are not remembering information right away, such as those in spirit wanting you to speak with others about them after the reading

Not Seeing Signs from Loved Ones in Spirit? Here Are Reasons Why

When a loved one crosses over into Heaven, they often send signs to let their loved ones on earth know they are in existence in spirit and still connected with them, as well as to share their love and let them know they are doing well in Heaven. Often, these signs can be very strong soon after their crossing. This is because they are still vested in the people they love on earth and want to bring them assurance and comfort during their time of grief. The signs must be very strong during these times because grief tends to immerse our souls in sadness, effectively blocking awareness of that which exists outside of ourselves. Because they recently crossed over, loved ones in spirit usually have an experienced guide with them to help orchestrate the occurrence of these signs.

Signs from Heaven

Immediately after a loved one in spirit crosses, it may seem as though there are no signs at all, or the signs may be very strong and clear then seem to lessen or disappear altogether. There are many reasons why it may seem as though loved ones in spirit are not sending as many signs or any signs at all. First, let us explore the ways loved ones in spirit send signs and examples of some of the stronger ones which may occur soon after they cross over into Heaven. Soon after a loved one in spirit crosses over into Heaven, they are often eager to send a sign to their loved ones on earth letting them know they have crossed over into Heaven, as well as to send their love and comfort. Often, loved ones in spirit are accompanied by a guide to help them during their time of transition and these guides assist with the sending of signs. Because people in spirit no longer have a physical body with which to send communications, they use the universal soul-to-soul form of communication, also known as spirit communication or mediumship, which is a much richer method for transmitting information. This method can utilize all the senses to provide a deep and direct connection with those they are trying to communicate with. The options are limitless when it comes to the many ways loved ones in spirit can send signs. Here are some examples of strong signs sent soon after a loved one crosses over into Heaven:

  • Seeing a loved one in spirit fully manifested in energy form, much like the appearance of a ghost, in which you see them in a slightly transparent form of themselves (Note: This takes a tremendous amount of energy and, therefore, a rare occurrence.)
  • Seeing loved ones in spirit in dreams
  • Finding coins or feathers in unusual places
  • Seeing repeated visual signs which remind you of the loved one in spirit, such as their favorite places in the world, hobbies, jobs, their name, or their relationship to the recipient, as well as butterflies, ladybugs, dragonflies, hummingbirds, doves, and more
  • Smelling a strong scent in the air which is reminiscent of the loved one who passed, such as their perfume or cologne, cigar or cigarette smoke, or the scent of their home
  • Catching a quick glimpse out of the corner of your eye of a presence in the form of the loved one in spirit or as a dark shadow (Note: Dark shadows are often misidentified as ominous entities, when they are really loved ones in spirit who are partially manifesting.)
  • Feeling as though a loved one in spirit placed a hand on one’s shoulder or affectionately touching your face – this feeling can be accompanied by a tingling sensation on the shoulder or face
  • Feeling a presence with you that is comforting
  • Hearing the voice of a loved one in spirit saying your name or words of comfort
  • Songs playing on the radio about Heaven or that remind you of a loved one in spirit
  • Electronics acting up for no explainable reason (e.g., blinking lights, electronic screens freezing up or digitizing, children’s toys or music devices playing on their own, etc.)
  • And much more

Reasons Why Signs from Loved Ones in Spirit Seem to Lessen or Not Occur

Often, people on earth expect their loved ones in spirit to manifest like a ghost in front of them and be able to hold a long conversation with them with questions and answers. This may happen; however, it is very, very rare. The energy it takes to do this is tremendous and the loved ones in spirit may not know how to do this immediately after crossing over. Instead, signs are sent to get their messages through. What happens though when it seems these signs are lessening over time or seem to disappear? Again, there are many reasons why signs may seem to lessen or not be present at all. It is not because your loved ones no longer care for you. They do and they are around you whether you are aware of their presence or not. Here are some examples as to why it may be challenging to recognize signs or why they seem to have dissipated:

  • Strong grief can temporarily block the ability to recognize signs (Note: This is because deep grief turns the attention inwards and can be all encompassing at times. Experiencing grief after loss is a natural process in which we need to give ourselves time to process our feelings and emotions, as well as time to adjust to the major transitions and changes to our lives.)
  • Not knowing how loved ones in spirit send signs or communicate with loved ones on earth
  • Expecting the same sign every time
  • Loved ones in spirit give us space to heal our hearts (Note: If they constantly made their presence known, those of us on earth would have difficulty moving forward because their presence may potentially prevent us from adapting to not having them physically with us on earth. This is a major transition for both you and your loved one. Even though your souls remain connected, adjustments need to be made and acknowledged for healing to take place.)
  • Times when loved ones in spirit are not allowed to interfere with decisions we need to make. It is during these times that it will feel as though they are not with us.
  • We are very sad or focusing too much on the mundane issues of life, which eats up focus and closes us off to recognizing signs
  • Misconstruing signs as representations of negative entities
  • Missing or dismissing signs due to lack of knowledge, fear, sadness, skepticism, or disbelief
  • Not giving yourself time to heal and adjust to the major transitions which occur when a loved one crosses over into Heaven, which can lead to a desperate search for signs when loved ones in spirit are trying to give you time and space to heal
  • They are learning how to send signs to loved ones on earth and participating in activities in Heaven which temporarily suspend the sending of signs

Be Kind to Yourself and Know Your Loved Ones in Spirit Are There for You

As with any major transition in our lives, we need time to adjust to the changes. While we are processing grief on earth and living our lives, our loved ones in spirit are also adjusting to their existence in Heaven. You and your loved ones in spirit are connected through the hearts of your spirits. There is nothing that can break the bond of the love you share. Be kind to yourself by giving yourself time to grieve, learn about how loved ones in spirit communicate and send signs, and have patience with yourself and your loved ones in spirit. They are there for you and will send signs when the time is right for you.

What is Intuition and How to Increase Awareness of Soul Messages

Lit lightbulb cupped in two hands Our intuition, which can be defined as our soul information retrieval system, sends us alerts through inner urgings and physical reactions about situations to direct us on the best paths for us. Intuition is an inner knowingness originating within our souls. It is the knowledge we acquired in all our past lifetimes stored within our souls. Every experience and every lesson we learned in each lifetime adds to our storehouses of information. This information is retrieved by our souls to help us in situations we face each day.

Inner Urgings and Physical Reactions to Distinguish the Truth

Intuition helps us to distinguish the truth in situations. It is our soul, or higher self, that gives us the impression or feeling that a situation may not be right or may be out of sync. It can also confirm when a situation is perfect for us or a great match for our life path. The gift of intuition is a psychic ability which is seated in the solar plexus chakra, the energy center located in the midsection of the body below the rib cage and three inches above the belly button. When messages are being sent through our intuitive gifts, they are often accompanied by physical reactions. For example, you may experience a sinking feeling or the contraction of the stomach muscles upon receiving news. This gut reaction is an involuntary instinctual response triggered by the intuition to indicate a warning of a possible negative situation for yourself or others. It may also be accompanied by a quickening of the pulse or a quick and uncomfortable surge of energy that starts in the stomach area and flows outward to all points on the body and dissipates. On the opposite end of the spectrum, when you receive positive news you may experience a sense of happiness, ease, and a temporary lightness accompanied by the relaxing of your muscles. This physical reaction signifies a release of tension associated with the circumstances.

Learning to Trust Your Intuition

Often, people report having a feeling that a situation may be off or that it is a good path to follow.  It is sometimes difficult for people to define where this information is coming from, only that they have a feeling about a situation. Again, this is a message from intuition. Learning to trust those intuitive feelings and messages can be challenging at times because the human ego, which is the seat of our fears, can insert negative thoughts dismissing the intuitive communications. Trying to remain objective about information and the outcomes of situations takes practice. Take a step back and try to look at the situation as though it is for someone else or through someone else’s eyes. Then pay attention to the feelings you are receiving about the situation. Again, this takes practice; however, anything is possible when you put your mind to it.

How Direct Guidance from Guides and Beings in Heaven Differs from Intuitive Messages

When guidance is being provided through the gift of intuition, there is a physical reaction accompanied by a feeling or inner knowingness about the information received. There is a difference; however, when the information is coming from beings in spirit. When beings in spirit provide guidance, it is received using one or all of the earthly or extrasensory senses. For instance, through my gift of clairsentience or extrasensory feeling, I receive “yes” or “no” answers through tingling on my left or right hands on the tops of my fingers. I discovered this when I was going to make a phone call to a potential significant other. Every time I picked up the phone to call, the fingers on my right hand started to strongly tingle, much like the feeling of pins and needles, but in a specific location on the tops of my fingers. This happened every time I went to call this person. I took that as a message not to call. I also asked my guys and gals in heaven for confirmation that it was them giving me the message, and the fingers on my left hand would tingle as an indication of “yes.” As is turns out, my guys and gals were right in preventing the call because that person was not the best match for me.  This is just one of the many ways they use to communicate personal guidance with me. They can also do this for you. All you need to do is ask and then pay attention to where the tingles occur for a “yes” or “no.”

To Heed or Not to Heed

When it comes to listening to your intuition or messages from above, you have the free will do to whatever you wish; however, there is a note of caution for when you decide to ignore the messages you are receiving. Ignoring them usually results in less than desirable results. The help you are receiving from your intuition and your guys and gals in heaven, otherwise known as your Heavenly Support Team, is meant for your highest good, which you may not understand at the time. I know from experience that heeding the messages usually ends up with better results for me, even if the direction I am being guided towards is not the path I personally thought was best at the time. We do not always know and see everything clearly, and it is wonderful to have our own internal soul information retrieval system, as well as a team of heavenly guides to help navigate us to safety in challenging situations. My advice is to listen well to the guidance. Our souls with information embedded from past lives, and our guys and gals in heaven, know our true paths much better than we do because they have direct access to the maps of our life plans created in heaven before we were born. Recognizing Signs from Heaven Is Important to Your Life Path

Life on Earth is an accelerated course for soul evolution. We have voluntarily opted to live a lifetime on Earth to learn lessons for the development of our souls, and the negativity we encounter speeds up the process. In Heaven, negativity does not exist. Soul development does occur there; however, the lessons are based more on the giving of service, learning about the many levels of existence, and exploring the multi-faceted methods for communicating across planes.

In our journey through life, we are not left to our own devices. Each of us is given extra assistance from our Heavenly Support Team, which includes God, the angels, loved ones in spirit, and spirit guides. They send us signs and messages on a daily basis that can help guide us on our life paths. The key to unlocking the knowledge that is at our disposal is to learn how to recognize and decipher the communications that are being sent from your support team in Heaven. The benefits to receiving this insider advice is almost immeasurable, as it can have far-reaching effects on the positive development of your soul.

Ascension Removes the Veil

When our loved ones ascend to Heaven, knowledge that was obscured from them while on Earth is revealed, giving them a better understanding of the reasons behind their experiences on Earth. They do not become all-knowing, but they do attain greater insight that enables them to see the events on Earth from a more informed perspective. This insight can be utilized to help you navigate your life path if you open yourself to the guidance that is shared by your Heavenly Support Team.

In addition to your loved ones in Heaven, you have seasoned spirit guides and angels that have specific knowledge about your chosen life path. They have access to your Akashic Records, which contain information about your past incarnations, as well as the plans for your current incarnation on Earth. The plans contain the life lessons you have chosen to learn, as well as an outline of certain events that could potentially occur in your lifetime. These events could be major turning points in your soul’s evolution that come as a result of the choices you make about you, your relationships, your thought processes, and your purpose. In essence, you are never alone. There is always a kind and loving spirit nearby who is willing to assist you with your life path. Having an open mind, and a heightened level of awareness about the existence and presence of these spiritual beings, are the first steps you can take toward recognizing and receiving messages from your Heavenly Support Team.

Your Personal Tour Guides of Life

Every day, you can receive messages from spirit that are like sign posts directing you toward the best path in your daily life, which also impacts your overall life plan. It is similar to having extremely knowledgeable tour guides to help you navigate the vast experiences of life on Earth. Because these tour guides are in an energetic form of spirit and have advanced communication abilities, they utilize all our senses to get their messages across to us. The greatest challenge they have in communicating with human beings is the built-in system that purposefully creates obstacles through the illusion of fear. This system is referred to as the human ego. It is the seat of negative thoughts that tell you this cannot be possible, that you will not succeed, or that signs and messages from spirit are just a coincidence. You can teach yourself to break past the negative illusions and thoughts to experience the extraordinary connections with your Heavenly Support Team.

Breaking through the Wall

The mental block that is put in place when we are born, otherwise known as the human ego, is a wall that can be breeched through conscious awareness of the existence of life beyond the human experience. The first step to managing the negativity created by the human ego is to recognize when thoughts of failure, dismissal, and self-depreciation enter our minds. Halt those thoughts in their tracks by acknowledging their presence and thinking “STOP” in your mind. Then, replace those thoughts with positive affirmations or beliefs about the topic. For example, if you catch yourself thinking the repeated references you keep seeing about your loved one in Heaven are just a coincidence, say “STOP” in your mind, and replace it with “There are no coincidences. These are signs from my loved one in Heaven.”

By opening your mind to the extraordinary possibilities of the universe and trusting that loving spirits do exist on other planes, you can consciously open the communication channel that moves past the ego and delivers specific and helpful guidance for your life path.

Everyone Is Born with the Gift of Mediumship

Everyone is born with the ability to communicate via spirit. It is the way we communicate with God, the angels, our loved ones in spirit, spirit guides, and each other. Our prayers, thoughts, and requests for assistance are sent to God, the angels, and our loved ones using telepathic transmissions from one spirit to another, similar to the way in which wireless signals are sent from one computer to another.

When we communicate with each other on Earth, these signals are being sent back and forth via our spirits; however, it is something that occurs in the background of conscious awareness. When you are speaking with someone, you know in your heart when a person’s words do not sound or feel right. There may be a nagging thought in the back of your mind or a slight clenching of your stomach muscles that may be indicating to you that this person is not speaking his or her truth. This intuitive information is coming from your spirit which houses a higher consciousness and understanding of spirit-to-spirit communication.

Even though everyone is born with the gift of mediumship, it does not mean that everyone on Earth is destined to be a spirit medium who shares his or her gifts on a professional level. Just as certain people are born with the ability to excel in sports, others are born with the ability to excel in spirit communication. Your path is unique to you, and if mediumship is your calling, you will know it. If it is not, you can still learn how to use the gifts you have in order to communicate with your Heavenly Support Team in a way that will benefit you and your loved ones.

A Map to Lead the Way

The benefits of tuning in to the positive messages which come from enlightened beings in Heaven can be equated to being given a map to help you find the most beneficial path to get to your destination, which is the evolvement of your soul through life lessons. Please know that spiritual beings will not give you all the answers or solve all your problems for you. They will sometimes only provide sign posts or messages to guide you along the way. It is your job as a soul seeking knowledge and learning lessons to make decisions through free will. If you were given all the answers, lessons would not be learned and there would be no point in taking the journey.

Examples of Heavenly Signs

There are many ways that our Heavenly Support Team sends us messages. It is an abstract form of communication that uses all our senses and goes beyond straightforward verbal and non-verbal cues. Your mind must be open to experiencing and recognizing the extraordinary in the ordinary that surrounds you each day.

Here are a few of the more common methods used to transmit messages:

Music and Sounds

Songs you hear in your head or that play on the radio at seemingly coincidental times, are often messages from spirit. Pay attention to the lyrics that you are hearing. If you do not know all the words to the song or the title, look it up. There is a message in it for you about a current event in your life. You could also be hearing music that reminds you of a loved one who has passed away. For instance, my dad loved the band, I often hear “Don’t Stop Believing” in my head or on the radio at times when I need a positive boost. As a note, negative songs and lyrics telling you to hurt others or yourself are not sent from your Heavenly Support Team. They only send positive or helpful messages to help you navigate your life.

You may also receive direct guidance through words or phrases you hear within your mind or outside of yourself, whether in a vision or while fully-awake. This may come through in their voice or in your own. When it is coming through in your own voice, it will feel like a thought that is not your own and you will wonder where it came from. The messages are always helpful in big and small ways. Some may even be life-changing.

Visual Clues

When you see an object or image that reminds you of a loved one, it is them letting you know that they are around and that they are sending their love. For instance, one morning I turned on my television and there was a show on about model trains that popped up on the screen. I have no idea what channel I had left the television on the night before, but this was odd because it appeared to be a very old show from the 1960s. I immediately knew this was my dad letting me know that he was around and that he was sending me his love. His major hobby was collecting model trains. There are no coincidences in this world, and many people may have written that off as strange, but if you open your mind, you can learn how to recognize these subtle, and not-so-subtle, messages from spirit.

When sending guidance, pay attention to repeated messages that you see or read. Your Heavenly Support Team will place visual items in your path to help provide answers or guidance. Again, there are no coincidences. Pay attention to repetitious messages and signs as they are trying to help you.

Feeling a Presence or Receiving a Physical Indicator

Some people on Earth have a very strong sense of extrasensory feeling, or clairsentience. They can physically feel the presence of a loved one in spirit. I often feel the presence of my cats who are in Heaven when I lay down to go to sleep. I feel the warmth of their love in the shape of their bodies that they had on Earth. It feels like a living cat has curled up next to me, and it may be accompanied by the feeling of a slight depression in the bed where they are laying. This may sound scary to some who have not experienced it; however, for those of us who have, it is comforting to feel the warmth and affection of loved ones in spirit.

When guidance is coming through the sense of feeling, you may experience a feeling that something is off with a situation, which may be accompanied by a clenching of your stomach. If it is an uplifting feeling of joy or great hope, you are being given approval to move forward.

Scent in the Air

Have you ever picked up on a scent in the air that does not seem to fit in with your surroundings, such as cookies baking in your office or cigar smoke in a non-smoking hotel? Loved ones in spirit alter the molecules in the air to pipe in certain scents that remind you of them. It could be the smell of their perfume or a mechanic’s garage. When you pick up these unusual scents in the air that seem to have no logical source, who is it that you think of? Is it your grandmother who baked great cookies for family gatherings? Is it your father who used to love working on cars and often came home smelling of grease and oil from his mechanic’s garage? The scents are usually strong and distinct, and they may be picked up on by others in your vicinity. That is because the scent is piped into the air when they send this type of message to you.

Guidance through the sense of smell can sometimes have unusual connotations. For example, my Heavenly Support Team uses the scent of a skunk to indicate someone is on the defensive. When this occurs, I know to handle the situation with great care as the person I am talking to may not be able to hear what needs to be said because they are too busy feeling as though they need to defend themselves or that they do not want to be negatively perceived for their decisions.

Cravings Out of the Blue

Have you ever had a sudden craving for your deceased mother’s apple pie, a craving so strong that you can taste it in your mouth? This is yet another way that spirit sends messages to us. The way they send this message is similar to the way they send messages that utilize our sense of smell. They alter the molecules in the air to send energy associated with certain tastes to the sensors in our mouths. This type of message is usually confused with physical cravings for certain foods. It is important when you experience a very strong craving to take a moment to think about whether this is a message being sent from spirit. Do you associate what you are craving with a particular loved one in Heaven? If so, acknowledge the loved one in spirit for their presence and the sign they sent. Know that they are there to support you in your endeavors and want you to know they are there for you.

Share Your Gratitude

When you recognize the signs sent by your Heavenly Support Team, be sure to thank them for their efforts. They are always pleased when their transmissions are successful because it means that you are open and paying attention to their loving messages and guidance. You can also ask them for clarity and for more signs to reinforce the direction they would like you to go.

Not Seeing Signs from Your Loved Ones in Spirit? Here Are Reasons Why This Occurs

When a loved one crosses over into Heaven, they often send signs to let their loved ones on earth know they are in existence in spirit and still connected with them, as well as to share their love and let them know they are doing well in Heaven. Often, these signs can be very strong soon after their crossing. This is because they are still vested in the people they love on earth and want to bring them assurance and comfort during their time of grief. The signs must be very strong during these times because grief tends to immerse our souls in sadness, effectively blocking awareness of that which exists outside of ourselves. Because they recently crossed over, loved ones in spirit usually have an experienced guide with them to help orchestrate the occurrence of these signs.

Signs from Heaven

Immediately after a loved one in spirit crosses, it may seem as though there are no signs at all, or the signs may be very strong and clear then seem to lessen or disappear altogether. There are many reasons why it may seem as though loved ones in spirit are not sending as many signs or any signs at all. First, let us explore the ways loved ones in spirit send signs and examples of some of the stronger ones which may occur soon after they cross over into Heaven.

Soon after a loved one in spirit crosses over into Heaven, they are often eager to send a sign to their loved ones on earth letting them know they have crossed over into Heaven, as well as to send their love and comfort. Often, loved ones in spirit are accompanied by a guide to help them during their time of transition and these guides assist with the sending of signs.

Because people in spirit no longer have a physical body with which to send communications, they use the universal soul-to-soul form of communication, also known as spirit communication or mediumship, which is a much richer method for transmitting information. This method can utilize all the senses to provide a deep and direct connection with those they are trying to communicate with. The options are limitless when it comes to the many ways loved ones in spirit can send signs. Here are some examples of strong signs sent soon after a loved one crosses over into Heaven:

  • Seeing a loved one in spirit fully manifested in energy form, much like the appearance of a ghost, in which you see them in a slightly transparent form of themselves (Note: This takes a tremendous amount of energy and, therefore, a rare occurrence.)
  • Seeing loved ones in spirit in dreams
  • Finding coins or feathers in unusual places
  • Seeing repeated visual signs which remind you of the loved one in spirit, such as their favorite places in the world, hobbies, jobs, their name, or their relationship to the recipient, as well as butterflies, ladybugs, dragonflies, hummingbirds, doves, and more
  • Smelling a strong scent in the air which is reminiscent of the loved one who passed, such as their perfume or cologne, cigar or cigarette smoke, or the scent of their home
  • Catching a quick glimpse out of the corner of your eye of a presence in the form of the loved one in spirit or as a dark shadow (Note: Dark shadows are often misidentified as ominous entities, when they are really loved ones in spirit who are partially manifesting.)
  • Feeling as though a loved one in spirit placed a hand on one’s shoulder or affectionately touching your face – this feeling can be accompanied by a tingling sensation on the shoulder or face
  • Feeling a presence with you that is comforting
  • Hearing the voice of a loved one in spirit saying your name or words of comfort
  • Songs playing on the radio about Heaven or that remind you of a loved one in spirit
  • Electronics acting up for no explainable reason (e.g., blinking lights, electronic screens freezing up or digitizing, children’s toys or music devices playing on their own, etc.)
  • And much more

Reasons Why Signs from Loved Ones in Spirit Seem to Lessen or Not Occur

Often, people on earth expect their loved ones in spirit to manifest like a ghost in front of them and be able to hold a long conversation with them with questions and answers. This may happen; however, it is very, very rare. The energy it takes to do this is tremendous and the loved ones in spirit may not know how to do this immediately after crossing over. Instead, signs are sent to get their messages through. What happens though when it seems these signs are lessening over time or seem to disappear?

Again, there are many reasons why signs may seem to lessen or not be present at all. It is not because your loved ones no longer care for you. They do and they are around you whether you are aware of their presence or not. Here are some examples as to why it may be challenging to recognize signs or why they seem to have dissipated:

  • Strong grief can temporarily block the ability to recognize signs (Note: This is because deep grief turns the attention inwards and can be all encompassing at times. Experiencing grief after loss is a natural process in which we need to give ourselves time to process our feelings and emotions, as well as time to adjust to the major transitions and changes to our lives.)
  • Not knowing how loved ones in spirit send signs or communicate with loved ones on earth
  • Expecting the same sign every time
  • Loved ones in spirit give us space to heal our hearts (Note: If they constantly made their presence known, those of us on earth would have difficulty moving forward because their presence may potentially prevent us from adapting to not having them physically with us on earth. This is a major transition for both you and your loved one. Even though your souls remain connected, adjustments need to be made and acknowledged for healing to take place.)
  • Times when loved ones in spirit are not allowed to interfere with decisions we need to make. It is during these times that it will feel as though they are not with us.
  • We are very sad or focusing too much on the mundane issues of life, which eats up focus and closes us off to recognizing signs
  • Misconstruing signs as representations of negative entities
  • Missing or dismissing signs due to lack of knowledge, fear, sadness, skepticism, or disbelief
  • Not giving yourself time to heal and adjust to the major transitions which occur when a loved one crosses over into Heaven, which can lead to a desperate search for signs when loved ones in spirit are trying to give you time and space to heal
  • They are learning how to send signs to loved ones on earth and participating in activities in Heaven which temporarily suspend the sending of signs

Be Kind to Yourself and Know Your Loved Ones in Spirit Are There for You

As with any major transition in our lives, we need time to adjust to the changes. While we are processing grief on earth and living our lives, our loved ones in spirit are also adjusting to their existence in Heaven. You and your loved ones in spirit are connected through the hearts of your spirits. There is nothing that can break the bond of the love you share. Be kind to yourself by giving yourself time to grieve, learn about how loved ones in spirit communicate and send signs, and have patience with yourself and your loved ones in spirit. They are there for you and will send signs when the time is right for you.

How Heavenly Beings Help You Every Day

Have ever had a hunch or received a thought that let you know in advance of an event that is going to occur? Have you ever found yourself in the perfect place at the perfect time? There are no coincidences in this world. Whether you are consciously aware of it or not, your Heavenly Support Team, made up of God, the Archangels, guardian angels, past spiritual masters, spirit guides, and loved ones in spirit, help you with your life every day. They do this through repetitive external signs, strong urges, and messages sent through the invisible network that connects all of us to them, as well as every being.

Magic Occurs Every Day

There is magic in this world. Our guys and gals in Heaven help to orchestrate events in our lives in order to help us to better navigate this world. They do it because they love us and want to help us. Even though they are in Heaven, they know life on Earth can be challenging. They enjoy the benefits of Heaven, but also use their wonderful access to knowledge about our lives from the Akashic Records in the Hall of Records to give us a heads up or steer us into situations which will benefit us and those around us. We are not alone in this world. We have entire teams of beings who help us from the Other Side.

Opening Up to the Amazing Guidance

To access this extraordinary information, you need to remain open to the possibilities. The more you live your life in the present and pay attention to the world around you, the more you will receive the signs and messages, as well as understand the guidance. Moreover, learning about how your Heavenly Support Team communicates with you will help you to decipher what they are trying to share with you. The language of spirit-to-spirit communication is one of the senses, both earthly and extrasensory. We are all born with these earthly and extrasensory senses. You can learn how to access them by educating yourself about the language of the soul.

All Senses are Utilized – Earthly and Extrasensory

On Earth, we rely mainly on our physical senses – seeing, feeling, hearing, smelling, and tasting – to navigate the world around us. The stimulus around us sends signals to our brains to help us interpret the information. For example, when you smell a rose, the scent molecules your nose inhales send signals to the receptors in your brain. Simultaneously, your eyes see the rose and, if you reach out and touch it, your fingers feel it. All of this information is transmitted to your brain, pieced together, and filed within your mind to form a memory. When you encounter this flower again or have an experience that triggers this memory, your mind brings forth the files providing recognition of this previously encountered flower.

Extrasensory senses mirror our physical senses; however, the information is received internally through the invisible network that connects us all. Instead of external stimuli, the information is seen within the mind’s eye, felt within the body, heard within the mind, and smelled and tasted internally. There is an additional extrasensory sense, which is claircognizance or clear-knowing. This consists of information that is known within and emerges without previous thought.

Many people receive psychic or intuitive messages; however, they may not understand where the information comes from. Awareness of how the information is being received helps in the educational process about spirit to spirit communication along the invisible network which connects us to all beings in existence.

Telepathic Connections

The easiest way to give a basic understanding of spirit communication is to think of it as a telepathic connection. When you are very close to another human being or animal on earth, you can receive impressions which may provide insight into the other person and what they may be doing at a particular time. The energetic impressions and information is sent through the invisible network at the heart of each of our spirits. The same is true for spirit to spirit communication. The information is received through your internal extrasensory senses. Because the means of communication differs from earthly means (speaking and body language), there are deeper nuances and symbols which are used to convey information. It is like an abstract puzzle which needs to be pieced together using all of your earthly and extrasensory senses.

Messages You Hear – Clairaudience

You may receive a thought that does not feel like it originated from you. Most of the time, it comes through in your own voice, but you know it is not a thought that originated from you.  Other times, it comes through in the voice of a loved one in spirit or an angel, which you may or may not be able to identify. The thoughts you receive are there to provide guidance and assistance with events in your life ranging from trivial to important. The messages never contain information about hurting yourself or others, as your Heavenly Support Team is all about love and positive assistance. It may be a one-word message or it may be a string of words providing guidance or direction about a situation you are experiencing. For example, when I was interested in purchasing a stand for my television, I kept hearing the word “Target.” I knew my guys and gals in spirit were directing me to go to the Target store to purchase the stand. I did purchase one on sale and in the next week, the price dropped even more. As an added bonus, I was able to collect the difference from the store for the deeper sale price.

Music that plays in your head is another way loved ones in spirit and the angels send you messages. When it happens, look up the lyrics. You can Google them by typing in the word “lyrics” and whatever words you are hearing. There is a message within those lyrics for you. Again, your Heavenly Support Team will never send messages telling you to hurt yourself or anyone else. Pay attention to what you were thinking about prior to the music playing in your head. If you were just wondering about a time frame for an event and you hear a song with a time or season reference, such as the Monster Mash (October) or Hot Fun in the Summer Time, they are giving you a heads up about when it will occur.

Getting a Feeling – Clairsentience

You may experience strong and repetitive urges to take positive action. When your guys and gals in spirit do this, they are trying to help steer you into a positive situation for you. For example, I kept getting a very strong urge to paint my bathroom as if you were immersed in the Caribbean Sea when you walked in. It was a project I had wanted to do, but the urge became so strong that I could no longer put it off. While I was in the middle of the project, one of my beloved pets crossed over to the Other Side. Painting a beautiful image is a form of meditation for me, and my guys and gals in spirit knew I needed to have a large project to work on to help me through the grieving process, and it did. There is a lot of love worked into the murals I painted and I know my Heavenly Support Team helped by providing healing and love while I painted.

There are other times in which you may have an urge to go to a specific location, such as the grocery store, only to run into a friend you have not seen in a long while, but had been thinking about. When you remain open to life, you can experience many wonderful adventures.

Seeing a Sign – Clairvoyance

Your Heavenly Support Team may also place repetitive visual clues in front of you to help you with your path. Years ago when I was thinking of heading back to college at night while working full-time, I started receiving post cards and mail from a nearby college. I had not applied for any colleges, nor did I ask for information to be sent. I also kept seeing billboards and references to this college on people’s cars, as well as verbal references which could not be mistaken. After looking into the college, it turned out to be an excellent option for me to take accelerated night courses. Your guys and gals in spirit do this for you, as well. They have the ability to place items in front of you and orchestrate events in such a way that it is hard to ignore.
