Communicating with Animals
Animals are highly intelligent beings who experience emotions, much like human beings. Both live and deceased animals communicate spirit-to-spirit, in the same way loved ones in spirit communicate with spirit mediums. This form of communication uses all of the earthly and extrasensory senses. Pieces of information are shared using images, sounds, feelings, tastes, and smells, just as human beings in spirit share information. It is a complex form of two-way communication which transcends earthly communication with its depth and symbolic representations pulled from the databank of experiences of the receiver, the spirit medium.
Pets in Heaven
When pets come through during a spirit medium reading, they show me images of themselves as they were close to the time of their passing. They indicate how they passed through physical indicators, such as pain in the area of my kidneys if they experienced kidney failure, or excessive tiredness, pain in the head, and a feeling of confusion if they had a brain tumor. This is similar to the way human beings who have crossed over share their symptoms with me about the way they passed. The pain I experience is nothing close to the level of pain they experienced because it is only an indicator, not a reenactment. In order to provide information which helps their loved one to identify them, animals provide images of their toys or collars, their favorite location or activities on earth, or people who are living that they love. Once the animals have been identified and claimed by the recipient, they share their love and express messages, such as thanks for the love and care they received in life or the assistance they received to cross over into Heaven. Feelings are transmitted, as well as thoughts which are automatically translated into the language I understand best, which is English. The automatic translation process is the same as it is when human beings in spirit come through who spoke a language other than English. I hear all of the messages in English; however, immediately prior to that the loved ones speak in their language to indicate to me they spoke a language other than English.
Interestingly, as with human beings in Heaven, animals on the Other Side can take the form of their younger selves once they have crossed over. I have seen images of dogs, cats, horses, rabbits, ferrets, birds, and more in the prime of their lives in Heaven, looking happy and often surrounded by loved ones who have already crossed over. Any physical pain or disabilities experienced in life are gone, and a time of rest, relaxation, and play are ushered in.
Live Animal Communication
Communicating with live animals works the same way it does with loved ones in spirit and animals in spirit. The transmission of information uses all of the senses and translations of thoughts are a two-way process. Meaning, information sent from the animal is communicated in a language the spirit medium understands and the information from the spirit medium is sent in a way the animal understands. It is an amazing process. By the way, animals can and do have a sense of humor. Just like humans, they experience a full range of emotions that would surprise many people.
Domesticated animals tend to be like young children with their mindset. They can be stubborn, even when you try to explain something to them. When placed in a situation they are not familiar with or that is confusing, their fears can take over, blocking out rational thoughts. This is especially true when visiting the veterinarian. Many pets do not like going to the vet, especially cats, just like there are people who do not like going to the doctor. Being poked and prodded is not a comfortable experience for them. Plus, there are many different animals and smells, including the smell of fear from the other animals. Do your best to comfort your pets and ease their fears using soothing words and tones. They feel your heart and the love you share with them. Visualize that love flowing from the heart of your spirit to theirs to help ease their worries.
The Special Roles of Animals in Our Lives
The pets in our lives provide much love, companionship, and comfort. However, there is much more to their presence on Earth. This includes animals in the wild. There is so much more to their existence than what appears to be on the surface. In addition to teaching us many lessons about unconditional love, friendship, and the cycle of life, animals have important spiritual jobs. Loved ones in spirit and the angels engage animals to help convey messages to human beings on Earth. If a particular animal is making its presence known to you on a repetitive basis, I recommend looking up the spiritual meaning of that animal. For instance, if you have been seeing many opossums lately, it may be time for you to let go of any angst about troubles in your life and wait for a better time to address the issues. This is because the opossum carries the spiritual message of “playing dead,” a tactic they use when they feel threatened. There are no coincidences. Animals do send messages through their presence in our lives. In other instances, loved ones in spirit may ask the animals to appear for a loved one on Earth as a sign of their love and presence. Cardinals, blue jays, and hummingbirds are often used as messengers due to their eye-catching colors, importance to the deceased or living, and because birds have often been used as actual messengers, as is the case with carrier pigeons. Loved ones in spirit can also direct pets to knock over certain photographs and objects to get our attention. After coming home from a group reading in which I was a participant, not the spirit medium, I noticed a small painting of my sister and I lying face down in my home office. My dad, who is in Heaven, directed one of my cats to knock it over to let me know he was around. My best friend, Michele, who is also in Heaven, had come through during the reading with a brief shout-out from my dad. This was his way of letting me know that even though he did not come through fully that evening, he is still around and sending his love.
Exploring the Natural World
If you are having a difficult time finding a spiritual meaning for an animal, look up the habitats and behaviors of the animal for clues about the message they are attempting to convey. For example, a skunk is a gentle and shy animal which digs burrows and emits an odoriferous spray as a defense mechanism. The presence of a skunk in your life may indicate that you or someone you know is on the defensive and possibly digging in their heels regarding an altercation. Knowing this may help you to recognize when to give yourself or someone else some room to cool down before attempting to resolve a situation.
Animals are Amazing
Animals are amazing creatures that help us in so many ways here on Earth. When you are hugging and loving your pets, know they, too, are sharing their love with you. They appreciate all you do for them. You do not need to be a spirit medium to convey your love. Pay attention to their needs through behaviors, notice the toys and food they prefer, and most of all, continue to show your appreciation for their presence in your life with loving attention.
Pay attention to the animals that make an appearance in your life, as they may be messengers from Heaven trying to help you with your life.

The Mysteries of Animal Communication Revealed
Anyone who knows me, knows I adore animals. The animals of this earth are amazing creatures that do much more than teach us lessons about life and death and unconditional love. Their presence in our lives often provide symbolic meanings that help us navigate events that occur. The persistent or repetitive presence of an animal in your life may signal an important message to you. For instance, whenever I see a mourning dove, it is a sign for me to be at peace with the circumstances I am encountering. I also take it as a message that my guys and gals in heaven are sending me peace and love to help me remain calm when faced with adverse circumstances. It is a reassurance that all will be well and that I should let go of worries.
Animals Can and Do Communicate
Even more interesting, is that animals have the ability to communicate via their spirits. As a spirit medium, I communicate with loved ones in spirit and the angels every day. It is accomplished through a method of spirit to spirit communication that utilizes all of my senses to transmit information, images, feelings, thoughts, scents, and more. I have discovered that I can not only communicate with beings on the Other Side, but also animals. Both living and deceased animals communicate in the same way that people in spirit do.
Invisible Network Connecting All Beings
At the heart of each being resides a beautiful spirit. Our spirits, also known as our souls, have all been created from the same source with the same raw materials. When our souls were being programmed, we were granted the ability to communicate via our spirits with all beings in creation. This is one of the ways our prayers are transmitted. The invisible connection between us all is a communication network that allows the transmission of information from one soul to another using a telepathic connection. Beings in heaven utilize this system of communication to get messages through to people on earth. Animals, both live and deceased, also use this system of communication. It is a universal language that is understood by the soul, and those open to it and who learn its intricacies, can successfully communicate via their spirits with other beings. For living human beings, telepathic connections do exist; however, while on earth, we have verbal and non-verbal means with which to communicate. Because life on earth is a spiritual journey of learning with souls on different levels of evolvement, communicating through words and body language are the common means for expressing oneself. As a note, telepathy does not mean reading someone’s mind. It is a soul connection in which information is freely shared by the soul, in much the same way as when we hold conversations with one another. The information is coming through via transmissions of energy which utilize all of the senses, rather than the earthly forms of communication which use words and body language. Beings without a physical human body utilize spirit to spirit communication, which is a phenomenal universal language which creates bridges between all beings in all dimensions.
Animals Have Depth of Spirit
It may surprise you to know that animals experience the world in much the same way people do. They have deep thoughts and emotions, likes and dislikes, and concerns and worries. To tap into the communications, one needs to learn about the way information is transmitted between souls. Students of my mediumship workshops are taught that once they have learned how to communicate with loved ones in spirit, they can utilize that knowledge to communicate with animals. As with loved ones in spirit who spoke a language other than English in life, thoughts and words from animals are automatically translated into a language I am most familiar with, in this case, English. The thoughts and words are often accompanied by images, feelings, sounds, smells and tastes, providing a richness of detail and depth that goes beyond what simple words could ever accomplish.
