At the end of this interactive workshop, you will have learned:

  • About the Archangels, their specializations, how to call on them for assistance, how to receive direct guidance, their signs and symbols, and more
  • How to communicate with animals, both live and deceased, using the gifts of mediumship, as well as the spiritual significance of animals in our lives and how to receive the messages they bring

Why Certain Loved Ones in Spirit Come Through During a Reading and Not Others

Woman smiling with head resting on handsWhen sitting for a reading, everyone has certain people they would like to hear from, such as their mother, grandfather, significant other, or pet. However, there are times when the loved one you long to hear from does not step forward on their own to share communications from the Other Side. It does not mean they do not love you, but rather that the people or pets coming through have something very important to share with you that can only be shared by them due to their relationship with you, their experiences in life, and what you need on a soul level to help you with your life at the time of the reading.

Get the Most Out of Your Reading with an Open Mind and Heart

Keeping an open mind about who is coming through for you is important for getting the most out of communications from your loved ones in spirit. They know better than you what you need for your life to bring healing, closure, and guidance because they know on a soul level what you need to grow and evolve in this lifetime. You can request a specific loved one in spirit to come through; however, it is up to that loved one in spirit to decide whether it is in your best interest to come through. Most of the time they do; however, there have been a few rare times when they have not readily stepped up in order to allow another loved one in spirit to bring through communications from the Other Side. Here are some of the reasons why this may occur:

The Need for Your Heart to Heal

There are times when deep grief can be overwhelming. Your loved ones in spirit recognize the need for you to heal and adjust to the new reality of not having them physically with you on Earth. When in very deep grief, there can sometimes be a tendency to hold on to the past so strongly that forward movement is being temporarily blocked. Your loved ones in spirit recognize this and know you need time and space to heal. It may seem counter to what you think you need; however, they know you may be attempting to hold on to them too strongly and may not be open to what they need to share with you. Giving yourself some time to heal and work through your grief immediately following the crossing of a loved one allows you to be as open as possible to their communications. There are also times when people attempt to see multiple spirit mediums in a short period of time to hold onto the past, which does not allow the heart and soul to heal. Your loved ones in spirit know what you need when you need it, and the one you are constantly trying to connect with may hold back from coming through to give you the space you need to heal and move forward with your life. In this instance, other loved ones in spirit will come through to help you with your life and the challenges you are facing.

They Need Assistance Bringing Through Messages

In certain situations, loved ones in spirit may need assistance communicating through a spirit medium. This can sometimes occur when a loved one has recently crossed over into Heaven and has not yet learned how to communicate spirit-to-spirit on their own, or they are spending time in the spiritual hospital to heal their soul or to be fully woken up in Heaven, as is the case with those who were catatonic for a long period of time while on Earth. During a reading, another loved one in spirit may come through first to help with the communication process. They are there to lend their support, love, and expertise to help the loved one in spirit to share communications with you.

There Are Others in Spirit Who Have Important Communications to Help You with Your Life

There are times when you would like to hear from a particular loved one in spirit, such as your mother, but your father comes through instead. This does not mean that your mother does not love you or want to communicate with you. It means your father has messages for you to help you with your life that only he can deliver because of his relationship with you and his experiences in life. Your loved ones in spirit have a unique perspective on your life from Heaven. They know more about you and the events destined for your life than you may realize. It is because of this that one particular loved one in spirit may be the one to share communications with you, instead of the one you wanted to hear from that day. Communications from Heaven contain healing messages at the deeper soul-level. Even when they are helping you with seemingly simple occurrences or events in your day-to-day life, they are providing you with proof of their existence beyond life on Earth, as well as their knowledge and ability to help you across dimensions. This information may be just what you need to believe in our existence beyond life on Earth and to know that your connection with them is as vital and loving as it was in life.

They Are Ashamed of How They Passed or How They Treated You

When someone has had a hand in the ending of their life, such as from suicide, a drug overdose, or chronic alcoholism, these loved ones in spirit have a tendency to wait in the background or hesitate to come through. This is because they are not proud of how they died or how they brought pain to those they love while they were living and in their manner of passing. They do not want to cause more pain. Their reluctance to step forward has to do with their own sadness with the way they passed, as well as their disappointment in themselves for bringing pain to others and missing out on what could have been in their lifetime. The consequences they experience from their actions on Earth require much healing for their souls in the spiritual hospital in Heaven. During their healing, they are also provided with coping mechanisms and insights to help them work through similar situations in their next lifetime. Even though they have received healing, there is still a sense of sadness for their actions on Earth that comes through when they do communicate. If you or someone you love is struggling with depression or substance abuse, contact a licensed therapist, call your National Suicide Hotline, or a substance abuse specialist to get help with the healing process while here on Earth where it is crucial for the soul to receive help as soon as possible.

You Already Communicate with Them Every Day and They May Put Others Before Themselves

Some people are very much in tune with their loved ones in spirit and they communicate with them every day through their thoughts and speaking out loud to them. The answers are received through signs, urges to take positive actions, answers through music, and much more. Because the relationship is already in tune and they are comfortable with the love you share, they may allow others in spirit to come through first if they have important messages to share with the recipient. At times, they may be displaying an aspect of their personality in which they would put others before themselves. Once that is acknowledged, they will step forward with their messages. As a note, healing, assistance, and messages from Heaven can come from people you would not expect, including great-grandparents or grandparents you did not know in life, a friend whom you helped more than you realized, in-laws and ex-in-laws, pets, and more.

Lack of Faith or Lack of an Open Mind

There are times when a lack of faith by the recipient gets in the way of communications from the Other Side. A loved one in spirit may be trying to come through, but the person sitting for the reading may be holding out for one specific piece of information to come through before they will claim them. Even though loved ones in spirit may be bringing through a lot of detailed information about their life, houses they lived in, their personality, their work, and more, some recipients reject the information because they are only listening for a “pre-arranged” code word or specific piece of information to confirm them by. For instance, on the day of a reading, the recipient may ask in their mind for a loved one in spirit to say “pickles” in a reading, just so they can know it is them. Sometimes loved ones in spirit will comply with that request and other times they will not. Most of the time it backfires because we do not control how our loved ones in spirit behave or communicate. The holding out creates a block because the recipient is attempting to control how the loved one in spirit decides to come through. There are a lot of lessons in that. Neither the medium nor the recipient controls what loved ones in spirit decide to bring through. Faith plays an important role for the spirit medium and the recipient during a reading. The loved one in spirit knows what the recipient needs for the growth of their soul. Letting go of the desire to control can be one of the important factors and lessons for the recipient, which is why they will not always play the game of bringing through that code word or piece of information, but will bring many other pieces of information which are unique to them. There are deep spiritual reasons for their behavior and if you are doubting the existence of Heaven, they may bring through information in a way that requires an open mind and your belief in their existence in order for you to receive it.

Knowing They Love You

Our loved ones in spirit truly know what we need for our hearts and souls. When sitting for a reading, it is best to keep an open mind and heart to those who will be coming through, how they come through, and the messages they bring. By doing so, you allow yourself to be the recipient of information and knowledge from your loved ones in spirit in Heaven that will help you with your life and help you grow as a soul. They are privy to the bigger picture when they are sharing information with you and they can help guide you through situations of healing, to improved circumstances, to an understanding about our existence beyond life on Earth, and much more. Most importantly, they love you and every aspect of you, and they also want what is best for you and all whom you love.

Not Seeing Signs from Your Loved Ones in Spirit? Here Are Reasons Why This Occurs

When a loved one crosses over into Heaven, they often send signs to let their loved ones on earth know they are in existence in spirit and still connected with them, as well as to share their love and let them know they are doing well in Heaven. Often, these signs can be very strong soon after their crossing. This is because they are still vested in the people they love on earth and want to bring them assurance and comfort during their time of grief. The signs must be very strong during these times because grief tends to immerse our souls in sadness, effectively blocking awareness of that which exists outside of ourselves. Because they recently crossed over, loved ones in spirit usually have an experienced guide with them to help orchestrate the occurrence of these signs.

Signs from Heaven

Immediately after a loved one in spirit crosses, it may seem as though there are no signs at all, or the signs may be very strong and clear then seem to lessen or disappear altogether. There are many reasons why it may seem as though loved ones in spirit are not sending as many signs or any signs at all. First, let us explore the ways loved ones in spirit send signs and examples of some of the stronger ones which may occur soon after they cross over into Heaven.

Soon after a loved one in spirit crosses over into Heaven, they are often eager to send a sign to their loved ones on earth letting them know they have crossed over into Heaven, as well as to send their love and comfort. Often, loved ones in spirit are accompanied by a guide to help them during their time of transition and these guides assist with the sending of signs.

Because people in spirit no longer have a physical body with which to send communications, they use the universal soul-to-soul form of communication, also known as spirit communication or mediumship, which is a much richer method for transmitting information. This method can utilize all the senses to provide a deep and direct connection with those they are trying to communicate with. The options are limitless when it comes to the many ways loved ones in spirit can send signs. Here are some examples of strong signs sent soon after a loved one crosses over into Heaven:

  • Seeing a loved one in spirit fully manifested in energy form, much like the appearance of a ghost, in which you see them in a slightly transparent form of themselves (Note: This takes a tremendous amount of energy and, therefore, a rare occurrence.)
  • Seeing loved ones in spirit in dreams
  • Finding coins or feathers in unusual places
  • Seeing repeated visual signs which remind you of the loved one in spirit, such as their favorite places in the world, hobbies, jobs, their name, or their relationship to the recipient, as well as butterflies, ladybugs, dragonflies, hummingbirds, doves, and more
  • Smelling a strong scent in the air which is reminiscent of the loved one who passed, such as their perfume or cologne, cigar or cigarette smoke, or the scent of their home
  • Catching a quick glimpse out of the corner of your eye of a presence in the form of the loved one in spirit or as a dark shadow (Note: Dark shadows are often misidentified as ominous entities, when they are really loved ones in spirit who are partially manifesting.)
  • Feeling as though a loved one in spirit placed a hand on one’s shoulder or affectionately touching your face – this feeling can be accompanied by a tingling sensation on the shoulder or face
  • Feeling a presence with you that is comforting
  • Hearing the voice of a loved one in spirit saying your name or words of comfort
  • Songs playing on the radio about Heaven or that remind you of a loved one in spirit
  • Electronics acting up for no explainable reason (e.g., blinking lights, electronic screens freezing up or digitizing, children’s toys or music devices playing on their own, etc.)
  • And much more

Reasons Why Signs from Loved Ones in Spirit Seem to Lessen or Not Occur

Often, people on earth expect their loved ones in spirit to manifest like a ghost in front of them and be able to hold a long conversation with them with questions and answers. This may happen; however, it is very, very rare. The energy it takes to do this is tremendous and the loved ones in spirit may not know how to do this immediately after crossing over. Instead, signs are sent to get their messages through. What happens though when it seems these signs are lessening over time or seem to disappear?

Again, there are many reasons why signs may seem to lessen or not be present at all. It is not because your loved ones no longer care for you. They do and they are around you whether you are aware of their presence or not. Here are some examples as to why it may be challenging to recognize signs or why they seem to have dissipated:

  • Strong grief can temporarily block the ability to recognize signs (Note: This is because deep grief turns the attention inwards and can be all encompassing at times. Experiencing grief after loss is a natural process in which we need to give ourselves time to process our feelings and emotions, as well as time to adjust to the major transitions and changes to our lives.)
  • Not knowing how loved ones in spirit send signs or communicate with loved ones on earth
  • Expecting the same sign every time
  • Loved ones in spirit give us space to heal our hearts (Note: If they constantly made their presence known, those of us on earth would have difficulty moving forward because their presence may potentially prevent us from adapting to not having them physically with us on earth. This is a major transition for both you and your loved one. Even though your souls remain connected, adjustments need to be made and acknowledged for healing to take place.)
  • Times when loved ones in spirit are not allowed to interfere with decisions we need to make. It is during these times that it will feel as though they are not with us.
  • We are very sad or focusing too much on the mundane issues of life, which eats up focus and closes us off to recognizing signs
  • Misconstruing signs as representations of negative entities
  • Missing or dismissing signs due to lack of knowledge, fear, sadness, skepticism, or disbelief
  • Not giving yourself time to heal and adjust to the major transitions which occur when a loved one crosses over into Heaven, which can lead to a desperate search for signs when loved ones in spirit are trying to give you time and space to heal
  • They are learning how to send signs to loved ones on earth and participating in activities in Heaven which temporarily suspend the sending of signs

Be Kind to Yourself and Know Your Loved Ones in Spirit Are There for You

As with any major transition in our lives, we need time to adjust to the changes. While we are processing grief on earth and living our lives, our loved ones in spirit are also adjusting to their existence in Heaven. You and your loved ones in spirit are connected through the hearts of your spirits. There is nothing that can break the bond of the love you share. Be kind to yourself by giving yourself time to grieve, learn about how loved ones in spirit communicate and send signs, and have patience with yourself and your loved ones in spirit. They are there for you and will send signs when the time is right for you.

Trusting in Circumstances and Retraining Your Mind to Focus on the Positive

Trust in the circumstances you are in because they are not only meant to be, but also are leading you to a better place in the evolution of your soul. Even if times are challenging or you do not understand where circumstances are leading, there are positive reasons for these situations. Negative circumstances are not what they seem on the surface, as there is an amazing interconnected network of events occurring at this very moment which are leading us into situations designed to help us grow as souls.

Seeing the Positives Hidden Within

Events we perceive as negative are designed to help us grow, often at an accelerated pace. Positive experiences encourage growth through reward. On earth, it may seem as though negative circumstances outweigh the positive. This is not necessarily true. Pain, emotional or physical, often acts like a bookmark on our souls. Because of this, it is sometimes easier to recall painful situations because they left a very strong impression tied to lessons for our souls. The human ego, which is the seat of negativity, uses these bookmarks to retrieve information and persuade us into thinking there is more negative than positive. However, in knowing this, you can train your brain to recall the positive.

Important Insights Revealed

One evening as I sat in meditation, my best friend, Michele, who crossed over into Heaven several decades ago, appeared to me. Memories of our relationship flooded in; however, all had negative connotations, including the heart-wrenching way she passed, the great troubles she experienced prior to her passing, and more. In my mind I said, “No! This is not what my relationship with Michele was about. Show me at least two positive memories to counter each of the negative ones just shown.” As I continued to relax in the meditation journey, the positive memories started to flood in about the good times Michele and I enjoyed. It warmed my heart and taught me an important lesson about the ease with which we recall the negative and how we can turn that around by redirecting our thoughts to recall the positive experiences. Now when I think of Michele, it is with joy in my heart for the good times we shared.

Daily Gratitude

Each day, I work on emphasizing the positive over the negative by expressing gratitude for all the lessons I have learned, the people and animals in my life, the opportunities to give and receive love, the gifts I have been given, all that I have, and so much more. When negative circumstances arise, I do my best to focus on the lessons behind the circumstances instead of allowing sadness or self-pity to kick in, as those emotions are counterproductive and wasteful. Because I actively choose to look for the positive lessons behind negative circumstances, I have been given glimpses into the amazing ways events are orchestrated, with one circumstance leading to another and another, ending with a whole host of positive experiences hidden within. A very simple example of this would be having a tire on your vehicle go flat, which leads you to a repair shop for fixing. This could be viewed as an inconvenience as you need to alter your plans and pay for an unexpected expense. However, while at the shop, you bump into an old acquaintance who, after inquiring about how you have been and what you have been up to, provides you with a tip to help you with your career. This piece of information ends up helping you in more ways than you thought possible and came at the perfect time for you. There are no coincidences in life. All events are orchestrated from Heaven with our best interests in mind. This sequence of events started with a negative but ended with a positive. You never know where life will lead you; however, if you keep an open mind and do your best to focus on the positives, they are there. It may take time to see the positives, especially when you are immersed within a challenging situation. It is at those times it would be helpful to let go of unproductive striving and look toward solutions and the lessons within. If solutions are proving difficult to determine, this is when I let go and let God. In my mind, I hand my challenges up to God and ask for assistance, then I take my mind off the issues by focusing on other tasks or activities I enjoy while I wait for instructions about the next steps to take. These instructions will come in the form of urges to take positive actions or repetitive signs or messages.

Asking for Help

Try not to be too hard on yourself or allow a barrage of negativity to get you down. There are times when events outside of you may disturb your thoughts or increase frustration or sadness about events in the world or in the lives of those you love. If you are struggling to grapple with difficult issues affecting your life or the lives of others, I recommend calling on God and the Archangels to provide you examples of the good in the world or to show you ways you can assist in the situation or help make the world a better place. I do this when negative news about the world becomes overwhelming. I also send prayers asking for God to intervene and heal the situations. Even though there are positive reasons for negative circumstances, it can be easy to be overwhelmed at times by an onslaught of troubling news, whether it is about our own lives, the lives of those we love, or the world. Ask for help from above or from those around you if you need it and do what you can to take positive actions, including looking for the lessons behind the circumstances and, if possible, solutions to improve circumstances for those affected.

We Are All Human

Throughout all the experiences of life, it is important to remember we are all human. We make mistakes, we get back up, we go through good times and bad, and we are all living through this experience together. Be kind to yourself and others through understanding and forgiveness, and by knowing there will be people who have not yet progressed through certain lessons which enable them to operate from a place of love. We are a mix of younger souls and older souls who are helping each other learn lessons, all with the goal of helping our souls evolve and grow to a place of higher understanding and peace through love. Viewing our experiences from a more positive perspective will help make our lifetimes more enjoyable and productive, while helping us to see and experience the love and guidance from Heaven which influences our lives every day.

Can Loved Ones in Spirit See Us from Heaven?

When our loved ones in spirit cross over into Heaven, there is an amazing transformation which takes place. Not only are their souls released from their physical bodies and continue on in energy form, but they also gain great insight into the inner workings of Heaven and Earth. Knowledge is revealed about the purposes of their lives, why events occurred the ways they did, and the lessons contained within their soul contracts. Through the process of gaining greater understanding of reasons for events on earth, they often volunteer to help their loved ones who are still there. The love which connected souls while on earth is a bond that remains between souls. Because of this, our loved ones in spirit can gain access to our lives from the other plane in order to help guide us and provide assistance when they can.

Watching Over Us as Guardian Angels

Once in Heaven, our loved ones in spirit can volunteer to be our guardian angels. By volunteering for this job, they agree to watch over us and help us when needed. This does not mean, though, that they can interfere with lessons we need to learn for our souls. They can assist us by providing signs and messages to help us to navigate our lives, steer us toward positive opportunities through urges to take action, and help avert certain events. All actions they take are orchestrated in tandem with our soul contracts, which are overseen by the Archangels who grant permission for the assistance. In order to help us, guardian angels need to be able to see events which are occurring, as well as understand events from the past which influence our decisions and be given glimpses into potential future events.

Past Life Pavilion

Loved ones in spirit who volunteer to be guardian angels can visit the Hall of Records where all Akashic Records are stored. These records contain information about our past lives and current lives, including the soul contracts we agreed to prior to life on earth. When visiting the Hall of Records, guardian angels can enter the Past Life Pavilion to learn more about us and what motivates the actions we take in order to better assist us on earth. These actions are performed with love and should not be viewed as an invasion of privacy. It comes from the desire to help through a deeper understanding of who we are as souls.

While bringing through communications from loved ones on the Other Side, also known as a reading, the loved ones in spirit have shown me specific scenes from the past in which they were not present for but have greatly affected the recipient of the reading. They show these scenes to indicate their knowledge of the past events, as well as to assist with any residual circumstances currently affecting the recipient.

Additionally, loved ones in spirit often like to share scenes of events which have occurred since they have passed in order to demonstrate not only their awareness of the events, but also that they were present in spirit when the events took place. The events shown range from simple occurrences, such as the purchase of new décor for the home or the habit of speaking to the photograph of a loved one in spirit, to more complex situations, such as the outcomes of lawsuits over their estates and actions taken by the parties involved.

Loved Ones in Spirit are Around You More than You Think

Even if you are not aware of their presence, loved ones in spirit are around you quite often. It is important to note that they do respect your privacy, especially those times of intimate behaviors which are not meant for public viewing.

All loved ones in spirit can see us from the Other Side, not just those who have volunteered to be guardian angels. They love us and want to know how we are doing. Loved ones in spirit often visit us on earth to let us know they are around and that they love us. They use signs to let you know they are around, such as visual images and music which reminds you of them, scents in the air, cravings for food they used to cook, and feeling their presence. They also check in on other living family members, including significant others, children, and grandchildren, even if they did not have a chance to meet them while they were alive. They are certainly aware of their presence and importance in your life.

Loved ones in spirit can be in more than once place at a time and can quickly move from one place to another because they are in energy form. When giving a reading over the phone, they often provide me with images showing the location of the recipient, including the layout of the room, specific furniture or knick-knacks and more. They do this to let the recipient know they are there with them, even though their communications are being received by me.

Messages about the Future

Loved ones in spirit who are guardian angels can also provide information about events which will be occurring in the future. They view these in the Hall of Records or are provided the information by the Archangels or God. Loved ones in spirit provide details to the affected parties through dreams and visions, as well as through communications with spirit mediums. It is very important to note that they cannot and will not show every occurrence that will happen in our lives. There are several reasons for this:

  • Some events are destined while others are based on freewill decisions and our current path. When we agree to life lessons in our soul contracts before we are born, they are written in outline form. Events are then orchestrated on earth in real time to help us learn those lessons. If we do not learn a particular lesson, circumstances will be repeated in different ways until we do. Therefore, some future events may change based on our freewill decisions.
  • When revealing glimpses of the future, guardian angels must be given permission to share these pieces of information. Permission is granted by the Archangels only when the information will not interfere with our life lessons.
  • If guardian angels showed us everything about our lives, there would be no purpose for us to be here. We all have lessons to learn which require us to make freewill decisions. They can attempt to assist us; however, they cannot show us everything because it may influence actions or reactions which are critical to our learning process.

Taking Comfort in Their Presence

Our loved ones in spirit, especially those who have volunteered to be guardian angels, love to help us with our lives. The love we share with them bonds us together through the hearts of our spirits. Even though they are enjoying their time in Heaven, they know life on earth can be challenging and they want to be there for us to assist in any way they can. Their presence in our lives is a comforting one, as it fosters the love between us and gives proof of our souls’ existence beyond life on earth. Pay attention to the signs and the patterns which reveal their presence in your life. Your angels and loved ones are there for you and are doing their best to provide guidance and opportunities for your spiritual growth.
